Leveling with Whispering Ice is very easy. All you have to do is get to level 33 when you can equip it, and your DPS will simply skyrocket, providing you did stack Intelligence attribute on your gear. Also, it's very important to make sure you Whispering Ice is item level 50 or above, otherwise, you will be unable to craft 6 sockets on it.The new Occultist version of the build is coming along pretty well. The damage is fine regular and crit would just be so expensive for 5%. The thing about Whispering Ice is that it's single target damage is increased the higher your Int is mostly by duration of the skill. For bosses you just stack Icestorms on top of each other. If you're doing enough damage to clear regular packs with one or two Icestorms ... I adore the design of whispering ice. Letting int be both an offensive and defensive stat allows you to really focus and its quite satisfying watching the number climb and climb as you level 2600 Int achieved at level 94. I'd just plan on using something different til maps - it is one of the most common div cards from stacked decks + league div card chests. So it shouldn't be a problem getting one in maps without target farming. Appears it has a "DropLevel" of 68 according to poedb, so yes, it's a map-only card.
